QUARTERLY VIRTUAL GATHERING OF CHOIR DIRECTORS
The Virtual Gatherings of Choir Directors are an ongoing initiative of the Sacred Music Council of the Eastern Diocese, created to support, encourage, and connect choir directors, church musicians, clergy, and all those involved in the ministry of sacred music throughout our Diocese.
Led and coordinated by Dn. Ari Terjanian, Choir Director of St. Gregory of Narek Armenian Church, and Karinne Andonian, Choir Director of Holy Trinity Armenian Church, these online gatherings provide a welcoming forum for collaboration, learning, and fellowship among those engaged in church music ministry.
Participants have the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, share practical resources, exchange ideas and best practices, and learn from one another’s experiences. Topics have included youth choir development, recruitment and retention, conducting techniques, selection of musical variants, liturgical music resources, and other matters related to nurturing vibrant parish music ministries.
These gatherings reflect the Sacred Music Council’s commitment to fostering collaboration among church musicians and strengthening the role of sacred music in the life of our parishes. They also provide an opportunity for fellowship and mutual encouragement as we work together to preserve, enrich, and pass on the sacred musical heritage of the Armenian Church to future generations.
Recordings of past gatherings are available below for viewing and reference. Whether you are revisiting a previous discussion or joining us for the first time, we hope these conversations will inspire and support your ministry.
The next Virtual Gathering of Choir Directors is planned for early Fall. We invite you to check back for additional details and registration information as they become available.
